Strategic Challenge
Develop a better connection with “the people” of New York with an attitude that is fresh and fun, but still “newsie.” Introduce a graphic language to support the various offerings of NY1, including the reporting “by the people” of breaking stories, helping “the people” through rail and road traffic, and allowing “the people” to tell their NY stories.
Creative Solution
Full refresh of the overall NY1 channel graphics and dynamic animations, depicting classic NY icons – such as the famous NY skyline and various NY neighborhoods – for a deeper personal connection. Expansion of the “if you see something, say something” call to action to text, email or calling via a graphics package conveying a “first on the scene” sense of urgency for Call NY1. Clever infographics to communicate a full NY1 Rail and Road report in 30 seconds, offering efficient commute alternatives to viewers. And, a series of 100% authentic NY1 Real New Yorker spots written, photographed, edited, voiced, scored and posted “by the people.”
